Toronto Bishops acknowledge Trans Day of Remembrance

From here:

On this Trans Day of Remembrance, as Bishops of the Diocese of Toronto, we wish to acknowledge the dignity and inherent worth of all people, including every transgender person, and our opposition to all prejudice, discrimination, or actions that deny the full personhood of any individual based on their gender identity.

Trans people are valued and beloved members of our Church, as clergy and lay leaders, as members of our congregations, as people we serve and by whom we are served.

Now if the bishops would only acknowledge “the dignity and inherent worth of all people” including those still in the womb, their statement might be worth something. As it is, all the bishops are doing is sailing effortlessly along on the tide of our cultural foibles and expecting to be congratulated for it.

Looking on the bright side, since God is no longer Father and, hence, must be transgender, fae must finally feel at home as a “valued and beloved member[s] of our Church.”

  1. What further proof do we need to show the ACoC is no longer Christian. One can only wonder if these so-called bishops, more correctly called apostates, have ever read the Scriptures. As I have stated previously the main reason for the ACoC, the TEC and other so called “liberal” churches have fallen into apostasy is the fact that the appointment of the ABC is subject to the civil government and the current and past ABC have chosen to worship the government as opposed to the God of the Scriptures.

Indeed. After worshiping for 35 years in ACoC parishes (a few years ago I changed the denominational target of my time, talent, and treasure), it dawned on me that in all those years I had never heard the word “abortion” from the pulpit nor the announcement lectern. I had, however, heard various phrases belonging to the LGBT* genus several times a year.

  3. Really, there is no end to the unctuous grovelling of these bishops before the idols of the age – which, of course, is what I think David said, only he said it much better!

  4. “On this Trans Day of Remembrance, as Bishops of the Diocese of Toronto, we wish to acknowledge the dignity and inherent worth of all people, including…” (insert favorite sin here). Indeed, these people do have an inherent worth, and Jesus came to save them along with us from sin, but by celebrating the sin, these bishops are effectively saying that there is no need for a savior.
