The Olympics; are they over yet?

I confess I didn’t watch the Olympic opening ceremony, or any of the events; and I won’t watch the closing ceremony. I’m sure that many people derive innocent and intense pleasure from watching competitors hurl themselves down slippery slopes at reckless speeds; I don’t.

Michael Coren doesn’t seem to like the Olympics much either:

An opening ceremony consisting of the RCMP, Natives, k.d. lang dressed as a man, a plump white poet with a silly beard pretending to be black and what appeared to be the cast of Avatar all dancing about and explaining how Canada is based entirely on environmental protection and the cult of equality.

The Olympic torch carried by various people who love Canada so much that they haven’t lived here in decades and spend most of their lives pretending to be American. Oh, and when did Donald Sutherland last make a good movie?

I thought k. d. lang was man: an illiterate man blissfully unaware of the correct use of capital letters.
