Jimmy Carter supports gay marriage

He does this because ‘Jesus never said a word about homosexuality’. Jesus didn’t say a word about incest, bestiality or necrophilia either; by Carter’s measure, that would make them ‘very fine’.

From here:

Former President Jimmy Carter has said gay people should be allowed to marry in civil ceremonies, as ‘Jesus never said a word about homosexuality’.

The latest book by Mr Carter, now 87, entitled NIV Lessons from Life Bible: Personal Reflections with Jimmy Carter, encompasses his views on the Bible and on gay equality, among other issues. Discussing the book, he told the Huffington Post gay civil marriages were “very fine” in his view.

Mr Carter said: “Homosexuality was well known in the ancient world, well before Christ was born and Jesus never said a word about homosexuality. In all of his teachings about multiple things -– he never said that gay people should be condemned. I personally think it is very fine for gay people to be married in civil ceremonies.

Jimmy Carter wishes Kim Jong-il’s successor every success

The odious peanut farmer from Georgia, having tired of denouncing Israel for apartheid, has sought a balm for his sensibilities in the roseate ambience of North Korea, whose practices appear to meet his full approval since he wishes their new dictator every success in their continuance.

Is Carter barking mad? Of course he is.

From here:

Former President Jimmy Carter has sent North Korea a message of condolence over the death of Kim Jong-il and wished “every success” to the man expected to take over as dictator, according to the communist country’s state-run news agency.

A dispatch from the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said Mr. Carter sent the message to Kim Jong-un, Kim Jong-il’s son and heir apparent.

“In the message Jimmy Carter extended condolences to Kim Jong Un and the Korean people over the demise of leader Kim Jong Il. He wished Kim Jong Un every success as he assumes his new responsibility of leadership, looking forward to another visit to [North Korea] in the future,” the KCNA dispatch read.

Jimmy Carter: anti-Israel buffoon

From here:

Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter, 86, has spent the past week in the Middle East, along with a delegation of peace activists known as The Elders, which is led by former Irish President Mary Robinson and former U.N. Envoy Lakhdar Brahimi.

Carter continued to publicly call on Israel to lift the international blockade on the Gaza Strip’s 1.5 million Palestinians.

On Tuesday, while in Syria, he said that Palestinians were “living in a cage” in Gaza.
