The reason for the decline in the Anglican Church of Canada is finally revealed

In a report from the Anglican Journal

[T]he primate, Archbishop Fred Hiltz, is one of the church’s “greatest assets.” The visitors said they were “amazed” at the similarities between Archbishop Hiltz and Archbishop Williams, noting that the primate presided over the bishops’ meeting “with humility, sensitivity and passion.”

If Hiltz is one of the ACoC’s greatest assets, I’m surprised that there are any people left in it. I think he’ll have to work on his eyebrows a little if the similarity to Rowan is going to be convincing.

Who is more unwelcome than a rabid Islamist? George Galloway.

Egypt welcomes a dangerous anti-Western Imam who was deported from France:

PARIS — France on Thursday deported to Egypt a radical imam who for months had been inciting followers in Paris area mosques to rise up against the West, the government said.

Described as dangerous, Ali Ibrahim Al-Sudani was detained and sent back to Egypt under an emergency deportation order, Interior Minister Brice Hortefeux said in a statement.

But not even Egypt is prepared to put up with George Galloway:

George Galloway deported from Egypt.

George Galloway was deported from Cairo on Friday despite wanting to return to Gaza to help members of a humanitarian convoy who have reportedly been arrested, a spokeswoman for the convoy said.

Plain clothes police officers bundled the Respect MP on to a plane bound for London, said a spokeswoman for the Viva Palestina convoy.

This goes to show that even Egypt sets some limits on whom they will allow to enter their country; George Galloway wasn’t even allowed into Canada – not even if he were confined to Brantford.

Duelling Fatwas

A step in the right direction or a decoy to lull the unwary into a false sense of security?

A group of Canadian and U.S. Islamic leaders on Friday issued a fatwa, or religious edict, declaring that an attack by extremists on the two countries would constitute an attack on the 10 million Muslims living in North America.

The 20 imams associated with the Islamic Supreme Council of Canada said this marked the first fatwa by the Muslim clergy declaring attacks on Canada and the U.S. as attacks on Muslims.

“In our view, these attacks are evil, and Islam requires Muslims to stand up against this evil,” the imams said in their fatwa.

The imams also said it is a duty of every Muslim in Canada and the U.S. to safeguard the two countries.

“They must expose any person, Muslim or non-Muslim, who would cause harm to fellow Canadians or Americans,” they said.

The 20 imams who signed the fatwa come from B.C., Alberta, Ontario, Quebec and Houston.

The fatwa comes just weeks after an attempted bombing on Christmas Day of a U.S. airliner bound for Detroit from Amsterdam.

Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, a 23-year-old Nigerian Muslim man, has been indicted on six charges, which include attempted use of a weapon of mass destruction and attempted murder.

The Islamic Supreme Council of Canada was founded in 2000 by Syed Soharwardy, the person who initiated the Alberta Human Rights Commission complaint against Ezra Levant for publishing the infamous Danish cartoons. The complaint was eventually withdrawn, but not before 2 years of wasted time and money.

Syed Soharwardy is the author of such nonsense as:

“Presently, what Israeli forces are doing to Palestinians is worse than the Holocaust of World War II.”

and

“Sharia cannot be customized for specific countries. These universal, divine laws are for all people of all countries for all times.”

and on Christians who assisted those struck by the 2004 tsunami:

“ISCC . . . strongly condemns the exploitation of tsunami victims by the Christian missionaries. There have been several reports that the Christian missionaries are kidnapping Muslim children in Indonesia. . . . It is now proven that the Christian missionaries do not help people on humanitarian grounds. They help people in order to exploit their needs and convert them to Christianity.”

All of which points to the likelihood that the founder of the ISCC is devious, impervious to truth and would probably do almost anything – even make sympathetic noises – to Islamise Canada.

The Diocese of Niagara makes a propaganda video

I came across a youtube curiosity this evening. It is a video of one of the Potemkin congregations that have occupied St. Hilda’s Anglican Church in Oakville over the last couple of years. These particular squatters and their kakistocrat, Martha Tatarnic were imported from St. Jude’s, Oakville. The video was taken in December 2008 shortly before Martha left for Orillia to share a church with some Lutherans. All the interlopers have also returned to their own parish now, along with their dreadful piano. I note the influence of Leni Riefenstahl in the camera work.

The Anglican Church of Canada is praying for Christian unity

From Canadian Anglicans to Malaysian Pentecostals:

Pray for unity with other Christians in 2010, Anglican Church of Canada.

Thousands of Christians—from Canadian Anglicans to Malaysian Pentecostals—will begin the new year by participating in the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. The 2010 week is slated for Jan. 18 to 25 and will focus on the theme “You are witnesses of these things” (Luke 24:48).

Since 1968, the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity has been jointly coordinated by the Vatican and the World Council of Churches, of which the Anglican Church of Canada is a member. The organizers encourage churches to adapt the materials to their local context and to use the prayers at any time of year.

Here is Bishop Michael Bird, deep in earnest prayer for unity with his Christian brothers and sisters in ANiC – while threatening to sue the pants off them:

We can say that we are pleased that the Vancouver judge has recognized the structure of the Anglican Church and most specifically, the Diocese of New Westminster. This decision supports our contention that while individuals are free to leave the Church, the property has always been held in trust by the Diocese. We are now anticipating moving this legal case forward here in Niagara and to have this matter settled so that we may continue in our mission and ministry.

The Anglican Church of Canada, along with The Episcopal Church, has made the most vigorous assault on Christian unity since the reformation, so with apologies to William Blake:

Pray on, pray on, Fred Hiltz, Mike Bird:
Pray on, Pray on: ‘tis all in vain!
You throw the sand against the wind,
And the wind blows it back again.

The Anglican Church of Canada: hypocrisy at prayer.

The earliest photos of our universe from the Hubble telescope:

Add an Image

The faintest objects, circled in yellow in the insets on the left-hand side, represent galaxies as they appeared about 13 billion years ago.

The Hubble Space Telescope has captured the earliest image yet of the universe — just 600 million years after the Big Bang, when the universe was just a toddler.

Scientists released the photo Tuesday at a meeting of the American Astronomical Society in Washington, D.C. It’s the most complete picture of the early universe so far, showing galaxies with stars that are already hundreds of millions of years old, along with the unmistakable primordial signs of the first cluster of stars.

These young galaxies haven’t yet formed their familiar spiral or elliptical shapes and are much smaller and quite blue in colour. That’s mostly because at this stage, they don’t contain many heavy metals, said Garth Illingworth, a University of California, Santa Cruz, astronomy professor who was among those releasing the photo.

“We’re seeing very small galaxies that are seeds of the great galaxies today,” Illingworth said in a news conference.

“We are on the way to the beginning,” said astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson of the American Museum of Natural History. “Every step closer to the beginning tells you something you did not know before.”

Contrary to appearance, humanity is not insignificant in the face of the vastness of the universe because mankind bears the image of its Creator. Nor does the size of the universe diminish the centrality of humanity’s significance. God is extravagant not parsimonious: in his extravagance, he created a home for us that will always contain an unexplored corner, however long he tarries.

Shooting out pebbles onto a metal target

But I bet you’ll never guess from where:

One of the latest trends is “VUM-building,” which sounds like a doomed Soviet industrial project but is apparently a surefire way to get your man addicted to you. VUM stands for “Vaginally Used Muscles,” and a number of schools are offering courses in strengthening and toning the muscles using special equipment — a kind of gym for the vagina.

“Our exercise program can dramatically improve a woman’s sexual performance,” says Olga Nikitina, 40, the founder of the School for VUM-Building in central Moscow. “She can transform herself from a slow Russian car like a Lada into a Ferrari.” To disguise the fact that the equipment really does look like it belongs in a car-mechanic’s workshop — it’s all pressure gauges and rubber hoses — the school’s two rooms are painted pink and blue; stuffed animals model phallic devices.

“Once a woman reaches optimal fitness, she can shoot a fountain of water up out of her vagina in the bath,” boasts Nikitina, a ponytailed blonde in a leopard-print top. The core device is a small silicone balloon that is inserted in the vagina and inflated with a pneumatic pump. “You squeeze against the balloon and measure the pressure on the attached gauges,” says Nikitina. Fine-tuning can be achieved by learning to shoot out pebbles onto a metal target.

I was thinking of taking a trip to Russia this year: home of Tolstoy, Dostoevsky, Gogol and – flying pebbles. That’s the trouble with women these days: they don’t appreciate men for their minds; we have become mere play-things for over-exercised vaginas.

Google is Islam

h/t: The Next Web

The ever helpful Google search engine tries to anticipate what you are searching for by filling in what it thinks you might be interested in. And, of course, it has numerous derogatory fill-ins for “Christianity is”:

But when it comes to “Islam is” gutless Google comes up with nothing:

Other search engines do have “Islam is” suggestions; Bing, for example, yields:

As a protest against Google dhimmitude,  I  have switched to Bing.

Islam and homosexuality

From the National Post:

EDMONTON — Junaid Bin Jahangir was such a devout Muslim that when he arrived in Canada he ate only yogurt for two days until he was sure which food followed halal dietary rules.

The university student prayed five times a day, and joined a local mosque.

Then one day, at age 27, he started to wonder why he had never been with a girl. “Why don’t I like women that way?” he asked, and it led him to a counselling office, where he sat, sobbing, with the realization that he was gay — a pariah to his community.

Mainstream Islamic leaders say gay men should be shunned and some around the world are killed each year.

Mr. Jahangir’s world imploded; work on his PhD ground to a halt.

But out of that despair, Mr. Jahangir began to work on another project: Understanding the teachings of Islam on homosexuality. From his office at the University of Alberta, he contacted experts, read everything he could on the subject and studied the scriptures intensely for two years, rebuilding his own identity in the process. His work is starting to be recognized internationally.

Now he argues Muslims misinterpret the Qur’an if they consider the ban on homosexuality to be as firm as bans on alcohol or pork. The common story from which most Muslims draw their teaching is about violent homosexual rape, he says, and it’s time to rethink the possibility of consensual, supportive relationships.

It is instructive to note that the same argument employed by liberal Christians to justify homosexual activity is drifting into Islam.

The comparison even extends to elevating trivial food regulations – eating pork – over matters of sexual ethics; an Anglican example of this is to forbid intinction while smiling benignly on consensual, supportive sodomy – something Ralph Spence did when bishop of Niagara.
