Assorted bishops and other clergy participated in the recent climate strike demonstration in Toronto. What were they striking from? Will they stop doing whatever it is Anglican Church of Canada bishops do to earn their stipends? If so, this would be good news for the ACoC: it could mark the beginning of a resurgence in attendance, even a revival.
That is too optimistic. I fear it was just another vacuous genuflection to the latest societal fad.
There is good news in this, though. If, as the sign below suggests, fossil fuels are kept in the ground, the bishops’ dentures will all fall out because denture adhesive is made from petroleum byproducts. And they will all wear dentures because there will be no toothpaste since it, too, is made from petroleum. Eyeglasses have polycarbonate lenses, so they will be no more resulting in the clergy being unable to read their sermons. This is looking better all the time.
I was going to say something about petroleum jelly but, after seeing Bishop Kevin Robertson smiling in the foreground, decided against it.
These APOSTATES will stand for anything that might be popular at the time but will NEVER stand for the GOSPEL or accept the authority of SCRIPTURE.
Your comments on petroleum by-products were a timely reminder of just how utterly clueless the anti-fossil fuel lobby truly is.
The list of things produced from petroleum that we all take completely for granted in our daily lives is vast. In all the chatter on sustainable energy solutions to fossil fuels, no one ever much considers how exactly we would replace the use of those fuels for a multitude of needs (i.e., the adhesive for the bishop’s dentures).
And of course, even the component parts of wind and solar generating equipment can’t be manufactured without energy and materials sourced from – yes – fossil fuels.
Meanwhile companies are moving people and equipment to the US where drilling and pipeline construction continue apace, with none of this stupid opposition. I have a friend who is a geological engineer, much in demand for pipeline construction, and he now spends much of his time in Pennsylvania.

I would pity those kids except for one important detail: they’re the ones who seem to want this. So, in effect, led by St Greta The Regrettable, they’re actually giving away their own future.
Except our kids are not evil, just gullible and misguided; mislead by those in authority, like those in this article; their teachers, media, “progressive” politicians, etc. Their agenda is not necessarily theirs. It is being imposed on them by manipulative authority figures. Even Greta is being used and her fear of catastophe is being stoked by unscrupulous people who are just using her for their own ends.
So instead of restoring the AcoC to being a true Christian Church these false clerics are fully participating in the fallen world. If they were called by God to be His Clergy they would be saving souls and instead of wasting time on this.
