Canada legalises recreational marijuana use

Having spend the last 50 years trying to convince people to stop smoking tobacco because it is bad for them, the government of Canada has legalised cannabis even though smoking it is probably worse.

Our prime minister, who must by now have realised that a drug-stupefied population is his only hope for re-election, tweeted this:

Criminals will still reap the profits; the only difference is they are sitting in the House of Commons.

Children will undoubtedly find it easy to obtain legal marijuana – from their older friends, from their parents. From the back garden.

As Western civilisation aborts, euthanises and dopes itself into extinction, cheered on by mainline churches, I fear there will be no reprieve, no swinging back of the pendulum, no regret or repentance, no Christendom redux.

We have one remaining hope: not marijuana, Maranatha.

  1. Yes, indeed our government leaders are playing into the hands of those who will profit from this action. Clearly our government leaders have lost all sense of moral responsibility and are willing by this action to provide free advertising in additional to high profit margins to those who are willing to sacrifice our youth for their own benefit. It is true that governments will collect taxes but this income will not even begin to cover the expenses which will be created to say nothing of the lives that will be destroyed by this action. The time has long since past for citizens of this country to get rid of these leaders who clearly have no morals of any kind and will do anything that they think will ensure their re-election. The proof of this is the fact that our prime minister was found to be the first prime minister in Canadian history to be in violation of the ethics for this office by taking his family on vacation to his wealthy friend who receives millions of dollars annually from Canadian taxpayers. This action cost us almost TWO MILLION dollars and Trudeau has clearly stated he will not refund that money.

  2. I guess that from now on those who smoke pot won’t be able to visit the United States without a special visa. Perhaps they may stay home and spend their money here instead.

    • The problem is that we will all now suffer at the Canada/US border because of legal pot.

US border personnel will (quite rightly) now draw the conclusion that every Canadian seeking entry into the US could potentially be carrying pot on their person.

    • Agreed. As for those agreeable/silent mainline Churches, where the civil Chamber of sober second thought now has failed, the spiritual responsibility remains:
‘pharmakeia’ – the practice of drugging, associated with sorcery, witchcraft and idolatry; all practitioners or pushers of which are “without” The Holy City, doomed to another destination.
+ The Revelation of Jesus Christ 9:21;21:8;22:15.
Sober second thought enough for all.

  3. Canada does indeed, as David says, present as a culture that is aborting, euthanizing, and doping itself to extinction. Such a society cannot endure – nor should it. But I grieve for what was good and promising in it. And there were such things, once upon a time. Still are, in fact, although it does appear that Maranatha is our only real hope.

  4. Since pot has always been illegal for minors and will continue to be even once legalized, the Prime Minister’s statement borders on the idiotic.

If anything – as others here have noted – the availability of legal pot will simply make it that much easier for “our kids to get marijuana”.

  5. Watched a report on CBC news last night in which they finally informed the public about the serious negative health effects of recreational marijuana. WTF! Why did the CBC wait until after the bill was passed in Parliament and not report this months or even years ago???

  6. “Our prime minister, who must by now have realized that a drug-stupefied population is his only hope for re-election…”
Our only hope is that such a drug-stupified population will too stupified to get out and vote.

You may be on to something there. It has been shown that, despite all their “progressive” political caterwauling, the younger generation stays away from the polling stations in large numbers.

It’s the middle-aged and especially the geezers who appear to have the annoying habit of insisting on exercising their franchise.
