Toronto Archbishop encourages Anglicans to attend Toronto Pride.

As I mentioned here, Andrew Asbil, the Anglican bishop of Toronto, extended an invitation to all his parishioners to join him in today’s Pride Parade: “My wife Mary and I hope to be at Toronto’s Pride Parade on June 25 with the other Proud Anglicans, and I invite you to join us.”

Tempting though this might have been, some of us had other engagements and could not attend. Luckily for us, some videos of the event were taken so you can see what you missed and why the bishop was so eager to attend. It was Diverse.

There is more, but you’ll get the general idea.

  1. It is not surprising to see how the ACoC is rapidly descenting into apostasy when you have leaders who have taken vows before the Lord only to spit them out to retain the admiration of those not in any way committed to the Gospel.

  2. I regret the way ELiC Lutherans and ACoC Anglicans throw out the word ‘discern’. Merriam-Webster says one meaning of discern is ‘to recognize or identify as separate and distinct; eg. to discern right from wrong.’ Mr. Asbil would do well to ‘invite’ people to a clear presentation of the Christian Gospel rather than to encourage presence at such a lascivious affair. That would be true discernment. I find the fact that he invites families with young children to such an event absolutely reprehensible.

  3. You should take it down David – it is a total disgust. Not worthy of Christians to promulgate such stuff. And I shouldn’t have pulled it up either – I should have known how bad it would be.
