Nominees for the next Bishop of the Diocese of New Westminster

Here is the list; each candidate has provided some self-promotional material – euphemistically known as a Curriculum Vitae – which can be inspected by clicking on the candidate’s name. The good news is that there may be relief for those of you suffering from incurable insomnia: each of the aspiring bishops has made a video.

Notable by his absence is Dean Peter Elliott.

Listed in alphabetical order, the eight (8) candidates which the Committee recommends to you for consideration are:

  1. Ven. Ellen Clark-King, Vicar, Christ Church Cathedral, Diocese of New Westminster (Ph.D., M.A., C.T., B.A.)

  2. Rev. Canon Dawn L. Davis, Incumbent Priest, Trinity Church Aurora, Diocese of Toronto (CHRP, M.Div., B.A.)

  1. John Stephens is interesting. I think he is the second person in his family to be at St. Philip’s. If I recall correctly, his father was the priest there for years.

  2. Considering the disaster under Michael Ingham’s tenure and the direction the ACoC has gone – specifically the abandoning the faith by the Primate and other so-called bishops I cannot see any genuine orthodox candidates in the list stated. What is required is a genuine Christian that fully accepts both the authority of Scripture and the uniqueness of Jesus Christ. If that should happen the priests and other officers that moved against genuine orthodox Christians should be removed from office.

    • Frank, when I read “I cannot see any genuine orthodox candidates in the list” I ask myself whether you are closely acquainted with all of these people. I will not identify those I believe to be genuinely orthodox, lest in this diocese in this election my assessment prove to be the kiss of death! But there is at least one.

Our situation in NW requires very much prayer, but it is not hopeless.

  3. You are quite correct in stating I am not closely acquainted with any of the candidates. However, one needs to ask where any of these candidates were when the Diocese legally stole property from genuine Christians – property in which the diocese made NO contributions. What might have been “legally” correct in our worldly courts was absolutely morally incomprehensible.

You are absolutely correct when you state much prayer is needed but I would also state significant repentance is in order.

    • Frank, several were not even in the same country, let alone the same diocese.

Repentance is in order for a Synod which so many years ago elected such a bishop, who was, in our system, ALL our own fault. Prayer is in order for all of us. If we want to complain loud and long to the Lord about the past, well, He’s open to that as well!

  4. Richard Leggett has been promoting same-sex blessings for many years now. I suspect that electing him will continue Ingham’s scorched-earth policy, and thus accelerate the decline in attendance and liquidation of real estate.

My preference would be to have another radical in place to make sure that the remaining Christians in the Diocese see clearly that they need to leave to be healthy.
