Muslims swell the ranks of the Democratic National Convention

As the article below notes, God was not mentioned at the DNC this year; at the next convention I expect Allah will be invoked instead.

It seems that Muslims may have stayed away from the Republican National Convention because of its anti-Sharia position. The Muslim perception of the Democratic Party must, presumably, be that it is not anti-Sharia; perhaps it is even pro-Sharia.

Welcome to Hope and Change 2012: polygamy; prohibition; criminalisation of homosexuality; dhimmitude; the death penalty for apostates and rape victims – and no bacon sarnies.

From here:

The word “God” may have been absent at the Democratic National Convention, but there were record numbers of Muslim delegates present at the Charlotte, N.C., meeting.

According to a news release from the Washington-based Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the convention hosted more than 100 Muslim delegates from 20 states—up from 43 Muslim and Arab-American delegates at the 2008 convention and 25 four years before.

“The more than doubling of Muslim delegates at this year’s Democratic National Convention is a direct result of their hard work and grassroots organizing within the Democratic Party,” said CAIR’s government affairs coordinator, Robert McCaw. “It is also a sign of the American Muslim community’s growing civic engagement and acceptance in the Democratic Party.”

McCaw noted that only a handful of Muslim delegates attended this year’s Republican National Convention (RNC), during which the RNC adopted an anti-Sharia platform plank targeting the religious practices of Muslims. CAIR has asked the party to reject this policy.

  1. As we Christians steadily decline, and our influence also,
And as the Muslims steadily increase, and their influence also,
We can anticipate the day when our countries shall change their names. Here is the from / to list to help you prepare:
    Canada / Canadastan
    Great Britain /Britainistan
    France / Francostan
    Italy / Italistan
The United States of America / Infidelistan

But on a more serious note. I wonder what will happen to all those beeding hearts that love things like: gay sex, abortion, womens rights, freedom of expression, etc.? Especially when the Muslims start pushing for things to be changed so to comply with Mohammad?

    • Lawrence Auster at ‘View From The Right’ wrote the following yesterday on the recent tragic events in Libya,

“At the New York Post there is a photograph of the dead or dying Christopher Stevens, the U.S. diplomat who helped the Libyan rebels overthrow and murder Kaddafi—Kaddafi who had made peace with our country. Repeat: this former enemy made peace with us, and we accepted and celebrated this peace with a former enemy and we restored normal diplomatic relations with him and we even pursued friendly bilateral relations with him. And he never did anything to violate our new-found peaceful relations or to threaten us. And then we helped overthrow and kill him, and boasted of his death. As I said many times, the U.S. intervention in Libya was mad, lawless, criminal, self-damaging, and self-damning. It is impossible to have any sympathy for the U.S. in what has now happened in Libya.

And please remember that the congressional Republicans and Mitt Romney did nothing to oppose America’s criminal intervention in Libya but supported it. Condoleezza Rice (Republican), who as Secretary of State had a cordial visit with Kaddafi in Tripoli, welcomed his overthrow and murder. Sen. McCain (Republican), who, along with several other senators, had a cordial visit with Kaddafi in Tripoli in 2009, two years later urged on his overthrow and boasted of his murder.

      • Hello Lisa,

So a newspaper published an opinion about the position of the right wing. That has nothing to do with the question that I asked, and so do not understand why you posted this as a reply.

The question still stands. What do you think is going to happen when the Muslims who are in favour of things like Sharia Law and the liberals who favour things like women’s rights confront each other?

Lawrence Auster’s blog ‘View From The Right’ is a major voice for the traditionalist point of view and is excellent; and has no newspaper affiliation that I know of.

Events now transpiring to which I referred have everything to do with, “As we Christians steadily decline, and our influence also, And as the Muslims steadily increase, and their influence also.”

I don’t know what’s going to happen. No one does. One thing I do think is no one’s going to be able to sit back and watch events unfolding as spectators.
