The Ontario Provincial Police in northwestern Ontario have laid more charges against a former Anglican priest and boy scout leader for alleged sexual offences.
Ralph Rowe, 72, will appear in court in Kenora, Ont., later this month. He’s charged with five counts of sexual assault and two counts of indecent assault.
The charges relate to incidents that occurred between 1973 and 1986 in the First Nations communities of Fort Severn, Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug, Wunnumin Lake and Kingfisher Lake.
The fact that this character was an Anglican priest is appalling – but not surprising.
John Bothwell, when he was bishop of Niagara, as part of the ACPO initiation – more of a hazing, really – used to show gay pornographic movies to the postulants to introduce them to the real world as he saw it. I reckon they were from his own private collection; my wife tells me I shouldn’t say that. Too late.
Those who were not shocked into throwing in the towel and finding employment in a sane institution were subsequently consecrated as priests.
So it is not surprising that an organisation that uses a process designed to screen out those averse to homosexual practice attracts many who enjoy indulging in homosexual practice. Including with little boys.

Why is it that whenever these pedophiles are discovered they are almost always men having sex with boys? Seems to me that this is everybit as much a problem with homosexuals as it is anything else.
Obviously, to understand the “Why” it is necessary to remove the rose-tinted glasses and take a long hard look at the Anglican Communion.
After Rome and Othodoxy, it is the longest running Christian religious power base in the world.
To maintain that power Anglicanism needs money [this is why Hiltz is now the Canadian Primate…] Money is ‘tight’ now, which is why Anglicanism is in decline.
This said, power atracts control freaks, and pedophiles who are also homosexual are quick to identify the vile opportunities that the priesthood offers to the sexual predator.
Anglicanism has historically atracted homosexuals to its priesthood; it has been said that the priestly class is over 50% homosexual. This may, or may not be a problem, but we must remember that while homosexual does NOT equal pedophile, it is easy for the pedophiles to blend in, and that often they receive support as fellow homosexuals.
There is also a total unwillingness from Williams and Hiltz down to deal with abuse issues openly and honestly.
Much has been written on this subject [quite a bit by me] but sadly the problem does not go away.
By whom? Where? I don’t think that is accurate. We need to remember that being tempted towards a particular sin isn’t in and of itself sin – acting on the temptation is.

There is no logical or empirical evidence to suggest a correlation between money being tight and a denomination being in decline. In fact, evidence suggests exactly the opposite. Poor Quebeckers, Irish, Poles, etc. were religiously observant and built numerous churches and had seminaries brimmining with vocations.
Affluence on the other hand… now affluence does lead to a decline in observance and in giving.
