Diocese of Niagara church blesses a rainbow crosswalk

In the spirit of blessing everything that has nothing to do with Christianity, The Reverend Jody Balint, rector of St. James and St. Brendan’s Parish, Port Colborne has bestowed her ecclesiastical benediction upon the town’s new rainbow crosswalk; in the hope that all who step on it become a little gayer.

It shines brighter now.

From here:

On September 1, The Reverend Jody Balint had the honour and privilege of blessing Port Colborne’s new rainbow crosswalk, a symbol of diversity and inclusiveness for the area. The painting of the crosswalk was an initiative of the Downtown Port Colborne Business Improvement Association and supported by several partners, including St. James and St. Brendan’s Anglican Church.

Someone should have warned them that to fully consummate your theatrical posturing, you have to wear a mask.

  1. Well, time will tell, Rainbow & how it’s used, etc. Not 10 % mentioned in Kinsey Report but only 3 %. Now, the bad split in the Anglican Church about Blessing Same-Sex Unions. I joined St John’s (Shaughnessy) in 1982 but in 2002 was a split in the Diocese Of New Westminster over ‘Blessing Same-Sex Unions’ when some walked out of Synod. One of which was St John’s following a Court Case following the loss of our building. We moved from Granville & W 28th to Baille & W 37th to Oakridge Adventist. We already had a Church Plant, St John’s Richmond. Since moving, we have 2 Church Plants are St Peter’s Fireside at UBC Robson Square & Sojourners at UBC Chapel was the old University Hill United Church. St John’s (Shaughnessy) has 30-50 attending last time I was there. They made it a Mission Church to get money. The Bishop’s Office moved in. Vancouver School Of Theology Archives Library moved in too. VST sold their building at UBC and moved to a smaller location.

  2. The time has long since past for genuine Christians in the ACoC to follow and sing the ancient hymn:-

    Christian, dost thou see them
    On the holy ground,
    How the host of darkness
    Compass thee around?
    Christian, up and smite them,
    Counting gain but loss;
    Smite them by the merit
    Of the holy Cross.

Having a black or purple shirt and a white collar does not a Christian make. What does requires a genuine faith in our Lord and accepting the truth of the Scriptures – not bowing down to the “god of political expedience”.

Genuine Christians should cease any funding of these apostates and seek fellowship in genuine Christian churches such as those in the ACNA.

  3. Among all four Denominations, ACC, UC, PCC, RCC, legal Party to the Indian Residential Schools Settlement since honoured more in the breach than the observance especially by the RCC, only one had no record of sexual abuse towards the children and youth entrusted to them:
The Presbyterian Church in Canada. Why? Its ‘Magisterium’ was Sola Scriptura; not the Wesleyan Quadrilateral; Psychology Science, or Rome’s Magisterium; until 2012 when its General Assembly, in grave violation of Holy Scripture, apologized TO sin; not for it.
As this spiritual tragedy unfolds in all these Denominations, the unheeded public ‘Testimony’ given by RC Archbishop Vigano on August 25, 2018, confirms itself.

    • Further confirming itself in its recent descent into anti-Scriptural sin by affirming in word and deed “the love that dares not speak its name”, the PCC is holding a memorial for + Charlie Wenjack October 23,1966,who was found hungry and frozen after having run away from the PCC Residential School in Kenora, Ontario.
No child should have been removed from their family for the ostensible higher purpose of education. Christian apologies are overdue.
When they hold a memorial for all those children and youths who were subjected to that selfsame abominable act that now their falling Church will “bless”, from the benighted Principal of Knox College, to the lapsed Moderator, Ministers and Elders, coast to coast, their repentance, not remorse, will have found The Love of Christ + that atones for all sin:
      because it is inclusive.
