  1. I was confirmed at St John’s (Shaughnessy) in 1982 by Archbishop Hambidge, I’d started attending the same year. A Regent College Student was in our basement suite at our house on 2025 W50th & Maple in Kerrisdale told me about St John’s (Shaughnessy) checked it out & stayed. Previously had gotten Rev Harry Robinson which had caused growth, he’s conservative. At the same time the Diocese Of New West that we’re in was becoming more liberal. Michael Peers was the Primate with Michael Ingham as his Secretary developed the Rite to Bless Same-Sex Unions. Michael Ingham becomes our Bishop & allows same-sex unions to be blessed before Anglican Church Of Canada approves at Synod. He allowed -some- to bless same-sex unions. Some -walked out at Synod- anyways. This is when St John’s (Shaughnessy) just -turned upside down. We have a deed thought we could keep the building but lost in court. We moved out of the building to Oakridge Adventist Church on W37th & Baille is between Oak & Cambie streets. St John’s (Shaughnessy) went from around 900 to 30 people whereas Oakridge remained at around 900. This was all over the blessing of same-sex unions. Well, time will tell about all of this. Evangelical Fellowship Of Canada researched that 3% is Gay/Lesbian not 10% in the Kinsey Report. I was told Kinsey did report in prison where it’s 10%. 3% in public & 10% in prison jumps up about 3 times. Transsexuals are 1% & 20% go ahead with surgery & 80% don’t. So, what I’m mentioning, we’re dealing with a rather small portion of the population. Will time tell? What do we do? Conservatives approve of male-female marriages. St John’s Vancouver is Conservative approves of male-female marriages but will remarry divorcees. The topic of sexual reassignment has never been brought up. I don’t think St John’s Vancouver approves of & encourages sexual reassignment.

  2. When apostasy gets a hold there is virtually no hope. The ACC has abandoned any claim to be Christian. It does not matter what colour of shirt a so-called bishop might wear. What matters is whether he stands for the true Gospel — something that the ACC has abandoned.
