We are constantly \u201cbirthing\u201d things in church: I wish we wouldn\u2019t.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cdisrespect\u201d as a verb. It may be in the OED, but it shouldn\u2019t be.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cempower\u201d \u2013 usually we \u201cempower\u201d women. Let\u2019s not, they already have enough power. As James Thurber noted: <em>\u201cWomen are wiser than men  because they know less and understand more.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;passion&#8221; &#8211; a vague itch somewhere.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cholistic\u201d \u2013 used by doctors when they have no idea what\u2019s wrong with you.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cglass ceiling\u201d, the breaking of which has become an excuse for lady bishops.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cstay at the table\u201d \u2013 I insist you stay here and let me talk until you die of boredom.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;intentional&#8221; &#8211; not the opposite of accidental, rather the art of deception while creating the illusion of agreement.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;holy spirit&#8221; &#8211; the feeling of certainty a person experiences when he simply must have his own way.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cdiscernment\u201d \u2013 ignoring everyone else\u2019s opinion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201copenness\u201d \u2013 ignoring everyone else\u2019s opinion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cvulnerability\u201d \u2013 ignoring everyone else\u2019s opinion while crying.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cdeep sadness\u201d \u2013 ignoring everyone else\u2019s opinion while pretending to cry.<\/p>\n<p>\u201ctransparency\u201d \u2013 ignoring everyone else\u2019s opinion while seated comfortably above the glass ceiling.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cmissional\u201d \u2013 no such word.
