Judging by this video of the infamous arrest of Dale McAlpine for saying homosexual conduct is a sin, five. It probably takes the entire police force to arrest a burglar.<\/p>\n

Here is the transcript from the Christian Institute<\/a>:<\/p>\n

Dale:<\/strong> We\u2019re not out here to break any laws. We want to abide by the law.
\nThere isn\u2019t any law against saying that them things are sins. There isn\u2019t any law against that.<\/p>\n

Police:<\/strong> Hello sir. What\u2019ve you been saying, homophobic wise?<\/p>\n

Dale:<\/strong> Well, homophobia is hatred towards homosexuals. That\u2019s the definition of homophobia but I\u2019m not a homophobia [sic]. I spoke to your officer earlier and he was upset that I was saying homosexuality was a sin \u2013 which is what the Bible says. And I affirm that\u2019s what I say because that\u2019s in the Bible. And there\u2019s no law, there\u2019s no law\u2026<\/p>\n

Police:<\/strong> Well there is.<\/p>\n

Dale:<\/strong> No there isn\u2019t.<\/p>\n

Police:<\/strong> There is. Unfortunately, mate, it\u2019s a breach of Section 5 of the Public Order Act.<\/p>\n

Dale:<\/strong> It actually isn\u2019t.<\/p>\n

Police:<\/strong> Sir, it\u2019s a\u2026<\/p>\n

Dale:<\/strong> We wouldn\u2019t do that because if it was against the law, y\u2019know. Lord Carey, was it Lord \u2013 the guy who passed that law in the Houses of Parliament recently \u2013 the free speech [inaudible].<\/p>\n

Police:<\/strong> [inaudible] It protects free speech to a degree but [inaudible].<\/p>\n

Dale\u2019s friend:<\/strong> Actually, I certainly didn\u2019t. These two gentlemen listened to probably all I\u2019ve said. I certainly never mentioned homosexuality.<\/p>\n

Police:<\/strong> Yeah, we know.<\/p>\n

Dale:<\/strong> The only time I mentioned it was when I was talking to this gentleman here. When I was up on the steps preaching, I didn\u2019t mention it. Even so, y\u2019know, it still is not against the law.<\/p>\n

Police:<\/strong> It is against the law. Listen, mate, we\u2019re pretty sure. You\u2019re under arrest for a racially aggravated Section 5 Public Order offence. You don\u2019t have to say anything but it may harm your defence if you do not mention when questioned something which you later rely on in court. Anything you do say may be given in evidence.<\/p>\n

Dale:<\/strong> Fair enough.<\/p>\n

Police:<\/strong> OK. Do you want to walk this way to our van?<\/p>\n
