Rev. Stephen Sizer<\/a> is an evangelical Anglican vicar who can\u2019t \u2013 and, considering he is an Anglican vicar, this is such<\/em> a surprise \u2013 help getting tangled up in politics. He is opposed to Christian Zionism<\/a>, believing that it plays a negative part in the politics of the Middle East; having read some of what he has written, I am unconvinced. Rev. Sizer sounds like a relatively typical Anglican leftist politician-manqu\u00e9 who has the expected knee-jerk bias in favour of Palestine and against Israel.<\/p>\n

I have little doubt that the using of his calling as an Anglican priest to dabble in politics \u2013 for that is what this is \u2013 does little for the Gospel, angers Jews<\/a> and provides ammunition to Islamists who, given half a chance would destroy the West, including Rev. Sizer.<\/p>\n

Seismic Shock<\/a> is a blog\u00a0 that regularly criticises Rev. Sizer. The particular accusation that has resulted in Sizer\u2019s complaining to the police, is that Sizer has knowingly associated with Islamic terrorists and Holocaust deniers. The police paid the blogger a visit for a \u201cfriendly chat” about his blog.<\/p>\n

Rev. Sizer, by resorting to bullying instead of publicising facts that exonerate him of Seismic Shock’s accusations, has reinforced the suspicion that there are no facts that exonerate him.<\/p>\n

As some people have noticed, I\u2019ve been rather quiet in blogging about the Reverend Stephen\u00a0Sizer\u2019s activities of late.<\/p>\n

After all, what more can be said of a man who\u00a0forwards emails from Holocaust deniers<\/a>,\u00a0shares platforms with Holocaust deniers<\/a>, and shamelessly\u00a0flaunts<\/a> his anti-Zionist theology before Iran\u2019s apocalyptic Holocaust-denying regime? As Iranian pastors are arrested and house churches closed down, why is the Khomeinist regime\u00a0translating<\/a> Sizer\u2019s book on Christian Zionism into Farsi? How many more times can I point all\u00a0this out?<\/p>\n

Yet there\u2019s another reason why I\u2019ve been quiet, and whilst I\u2019ve held my tongue and my pen for a while, now is time to speak.<\/p>\n

At 10am on Sunday 29th<\/sup> November 2009, I received a visit from two policemen regarding my activities in running the Seismic Shock blog. (Does exposing a vicar\u2019s\u00a0associations with extremists make me a criminal?<\/em>, I\u00a0wondered initially).\u00a0A sergeant from the Horsforth\u00a0Police\u00a0related to me that he had received complaints via Surrey\u00a0Police\u00a0from Rev\u00a0Sizer\u00a0and from Dr Anthony McRoy \u2013 a lecturer at the\u00a0Wales Evangelical School of Theology<\/a> \u2013 who both objected to being associated with terrorists and Holocaust deniers.<\/p>\n

(Context<\/strong>:\u00a0Sizer\u00a0has associated with some very nasty <\/em>terrorists and Holocaust deniers<\/em><\/a>; McRoy has <\/em>delivered a paper<\/em><\/a> at a Khomeinist theological conference\u00a0in Iran comparing Hezbollah\u2019s struggle against Israel via suicide bombing with the Christian\u2019s struggle against sin via the atoning death of Jesus, and <\/em>describes<\/em><\/a> the\u00a0world\u2019s most prominent Holocaust denier as an \u201cintelligent, humble, charismatic, and charming\u201d man who \u201cgives quick, extensive and intelligent answers to any question, mixed with genial humour\u201d).<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
