Kairos is funded by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) which is funded by taxpayers. Kairos\u2019s funding has been cut off.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nationalpost.com\/news\/global-video\/index.html?category=National+Post\/Global+News&amp;video=SHYiFmSPyrZ84THE5icaUbwrFBr8UlW6\" target=\"_blank\">Some<\/a> speculate that Kairos is being punished for its criticism of the Canadian government and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.anglicanjournal.com\/100\/article\/funding-cuts-threaten-kairos\/?cHash=47a30e288f\" target=\"_blank\">leaders<\/a> from the <a href=\"http:\/\/news.anglican.ca\/news\/stories\/2142\" target=\"_blank\">Anglican Church of Canada<\/a> are <a href=\"http:\/\/rabble.ca\/comment\/1089862\/Anglicans-national\" target=\"_blank\">frothing<\/a> at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.anglicanjournal.com\/nc\/100\/article\/a-moral-imperative-to-defend-human-rights\/\" target=\"_blank\">mouth<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The puzzle is, why do churches like the Anglican Church and the United Church expect a secular state to fund their pet projects; why don\u2019t they do it themselves?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kairos is a coalition of Canadian churches that \u201cworks to promote human rights, justice and peace, viable human development, and ecological justice\u201d.
