Its overall effect is much the same as that of <a href=\"http:\/\/hitchhikers.wikia.com\/wiki\/Vogon_Poetry\" target=\"_blank\">Vogon poetry<\/a> (the 3<sup>rd<\/sup> worst poetry in the universe \u2013 Al Gore\u2019s being the 4<sup>th<\/sup> worst).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.vanityfair.com\/online\/politics\/2009\/12\/al-gore-the-poet-laureate-of-climate-change.html\" target=\"_blank\">Here<\/a> are some excerpts:<em> <\/em><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>One thin September soon<\/em><em><br \/>\n<em>A floating continent disappears<\/em><br \/>\n<em>In midnight sun<\/em><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Vapors rise as<\/em><em><br \/>\n<em>Fever settles on an acid sea.<\/em><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u2026\u2026<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Snow glides from the mountain<\/em><em><br \/>\n<em>Ice fathers floods for a season<\/em><br \/>\n<em>A hard rain comes quickly<\/em><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Then dirt is parched<\/em><em><br \/>\n<em>Kindling is placed in the forest<\/em><br \/>\n<em>For the lightning\u2019s celebration<\/em><\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u2026\u2026.<\/p>\n<p><em>The shepherd cries<\/em><em><br \/>\n<em>The hour of choosing has arrived<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Here are your tools<\/em><\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This reminds me that it\u2019s back to the 60\u2019s for the Copenhagen Climate Conference: the <a href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/2\/hi\/americas\/8396803.stm\" target=\"_blank\">theme song<\/a> is Bob Dylan\u2019s <em>A Hard Rain\u2019s Gonna Fall.<\/em> Between that and Al Gore reading his poetry, delegates will be running from the auditorium shrieking and clutching their heads.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Al Gore is writing climate poetry.
