Civil Liberties Association said Friday.<\/p>\n<p>The proposed law was introduced Thursday as a bill to amend the Municipalities Enabling and Validating Act.<\/p>\n<p>The government said in a statement that the changes will &#8220;provide the municipalities of Vancouver, Richmond and Whistler with temporary enforcement powers to enable them to swiftly remove illegal signs and graffiti during the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I can think of only one adequate response:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-5903\" title=\"Olympic  Finger\" src=\"http:\/\/anglicansamizdat.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/10\/olympic-finger.jpg?w=1024\" alt=\"Olympic  Finger\" width=\"601\" height=\"323\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The CBC reports: A proposed B.C. law would allow municipal officials to enter homes to seize unauthorized and possibly anti-Olympic signs on short notice, civil libertarians say.
