Jimmy Carter not only sees apartheid<\/a> when it isn\u2019t there, he also sees racism<\/a>:<\/p>\n Former U.S. president Jimmy Carter said a congressman’s outburst directed at President Barack Obama during a speech to Congress last week was an act \u201cbased on racism\u201d and rooted in fears of a black president.<\/p>\n \u201cI think it’s based on racism,\u201d Mr. Carter said Tuesday in response to an audience question at a town hall held at his presidential centre in Atlanta. \u201cThere is an inherent feeling among many in this country that an African-American should not be president.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Carter himself does not hesitate<\/a> to call George Bush a liar, something he presumably would not have done were Bush black. So who\u2019s the racist?<\/p>\n Jimmy Carter, the former US president, has strongly criticized George Bush and Tony Blair for waging an unnecessary war to oust Saddam Hussein based on “lies or misinterpretations”.
