{"id":4775,"date":"2009-06-30T11:52:02","date_gmt":"2009-06-30T15:52:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/anglicansamizdat.wordpress.com\/?p=4775"},"modified":"2009-06-30T11:52:02","modified_gmt":"2009-06-30T15:52:02","slug":"selective-clerical-compassion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.anglicansamizdat.net\/wordpress\/selective-clerical-compassion\/","title":{"rendered":"Selective clerical compassion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The World Council of Churches is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oikoumene.org\/en\/news\/news-management\/eng\/a\/article\/\/eye-witness-perspectives.html\" target=\"_blank\">worried about Gaza<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>A directors&#8217; delegation from APRODEV &#8211; the Association of World Council of Churches (WCC) related Development Organizations in Europe &#8211; who visited Gaza during the World Week for Peace in Palestine Israel, have urged Ministers of Foreign Affairs in the European Union (EU) to also go there and &#8220;witness for themselves the denigrating circumstances in which the people of Gaza live.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The <em>World Week for Peace in Palestine <\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.oikoumene.org\/en\/events-sections\/wwppi.html\" target=\"_blank\">intones<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The week calls participants to\u00a0seek justice for Palestinians so that both Israelis and Palestinians can finally live in peace. It is now more than 60 years since the partition of Palestine hardened into a permanent nightmare for Palestinians.
