{"id":4666,"date":"2009-06-16T10:53:37","date_gmt":"2009-06-16T14:53:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/anglicansamizdat.wordpress.com\/?p=4666"},"modified":"2009-06-16T10:53:37","modified_gmt":"2009-06-16T14:53:37","slug":"anglican-inclusivity-in-action","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.anglicansamizdat.net\/wordpress\/anglican-inclusivity-in-action\/","title":{"rendered":"Anglican inclusivity in action"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Blackburn Cathedral in Lancashire <a href=\"http:\/\/www.blackburncathedral.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">presents itself<\/a> as an inclusive welcoming church:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u2022 We are committed to assisting the disadvantaged and the marginalised.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 We are delighted to engage with people of all faiths and world views.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 We are working to regenerate our community its buildings and its people.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 We are here for you.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In spite of being \u00a0<em>delighted to engage with people of all faiths and world views, <\/em>there is little enthusiasm for engaging with a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/news\/uknews\/5549702\/Runner-ejected-from-Cathedral-after-being-mistaken-as-BNP-member.html\" target=\"_blank\">member of the BNP<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Phyllip Cadwallader, 43, had called in to light a candle in memory of his late mother before competing in a running race.<\/p>\n<p>He was dressed in a shirt, trousers and pair of brogues, but aroused attention because of he has a shaven head, tattoos and was carrying a bag.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Cadwallader, a former autism support worker, was initially told to sit at the back of Blackburn Cathedral, before being told to leave by the Dean.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>It turns out that the unfortunate Mr. Cadwallader was not a member of the BNP; but what if he was?
