{"id":4523,"date":"2009-06-05T12:24:24","date_gmt":"2009-06-05T16:24:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/anglicansamizdat.wordpress.com\/?p=4523"},"modified":"2009-06-05T12:24:24","modified_gmt":"2009-06-05T16:24:24","slug":"rowans-carbon-codswallop","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.anglicansamizdat.net\/wordpress\/rowans-carbon-codswallop\/","title":{"rendered":"Rowan\u2019s Carbon Codswallop"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Rowan Williams <a href=\"http:\/\/www.christiantoday.com\/article\/pray.and.act.now.for.the.environment.says.archbishop\/23533.htm\" target=\"_blank\">enlightens us<\/a> on what is really important:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The Archbishop said that climate change was \u201cprobably\u201d the most important issue the world is facing today and stressed that it was a matter of justice as well as caring for the environment.<\/p>\n<p>He said: \u201cAs usual the poorest are likely to suffer the most though the richest have contributed most to pollute the atmosphere and accelerate global warming.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo we can pray that a proper sense of responsibility (not least to the generations who will follow us) and of justice guides the hearts and the minds of the politicians who will meet in Copenhagen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Archbishop urged Christians to get involved with events and campaigns taking place between now and December. He plans to be in Copenhagen to support last minute campaigns for a suitable deal to emerge from the talks.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Obviously no-one has told Rowan that the earth has been <a href=\"http:\/\/network.nationalpost.com\/np\/blogs\/fullcomment\/archive\/2009\/03\/02\/lorne-gunter-climate-change-double-think.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">cooling since 1998<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/network.nationalpost.com\/np\/blogs\/fullcomment\/archive\/2009\/03\/02\/lorne-gunter-climate-change-double-think.aspx\"><\/a>, global warming is, at best, <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/List_of_scientists_opposing_the_mainstream_scientific_assessment_of_global_warming\" target=\"_blank\">scientifically questionable<\/a> and has made at least one rich person &#8211; Al Gore \u2013 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.zimbio.com\/Global+Warming+Hoax\/articles\/118\/Church+Invests+200+Million+Al+Gore+Green+Company\" target=\"_blank\">richer<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I wait with anticipation the day when Rowan tells us that <em>the most important issue[s] the world is facing today <\/em>are sin, redemption, Jesus, heaven, hell and our choices on the aforementioned.
