{"id":32953,"date":"2026-06-26T14:22:50","date_gmt":"2026-06-26T18:22:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.anglicansamizdat.net\/wordpress\/?p=32953"},"modified":"2026-06-26T16:27:23","modified_gmt":"2026-06-26T20:27:23","slug":"jesus-foot-washing-likened-to-genital-washing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.anglicansamizdat.net\/wordpress\/jesus-foot-washing-likened-to-genital-washing\/","title":{"rendered":"Jesus\u2019 foot washing likened to genital washing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Diocese of Niagara is renowned worldwide for driving out the faithful by being radically inclusive.<\/p>\n<p>In 2012 the women priests of the diocese <a href=\"https:\/\/www.anglicansamizdat.net\/wordpress\/diocese-of-niagara-performs-the-vagina-monologues-in-cathedral\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">performed the Vagina Monologues<\/a> in the diocesan cathedral, thereby dissipating any vestige of decorum that might still be clinging unwillingly to the ladies of the cloth.<\/p>\n<p>The tradition continues with yearly Pride Masses. This year we had the <a href=\"https:\/\/niagaraanglican.news\/this-is-my-body-hope-in-a-time-of-division\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">This is My Body<\/a> celebration. But it was almost entirely concerned with our bodies, not His body.<\/p>\n<p>Hence the reading was from Sonya Renee Taylor\u2019s <em>The Body is not an Apology, the Power of Radical Self Love.<\/em> Or, a radical reinterpretation of <em>2 Timothy 3:2.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-32954\" src=\"https:\/\/www.anglicansamizdat.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/2026-06-26_134033-298x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"298\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.anglicansamizdat.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/2026-06-26_134033-298x300.jpg 298w, https:\/\/www.anglicansamizdat.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/2026-06-26_134033-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.anglicansamizdat.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/2026-06-26_134033.jpg 569w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 298px) 100vw, 298px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Here is a selection from the sermon about Jesus washing the disciples\u2019 feet. The disciples\u2019 reluctance, we are told, was partly because feet are <em>kinky <\/em>and partly because feet are a euphemism for genitals.
