Quite true.<\/p>\n

After his sermon the worship service was \u201ccharacterized by [a] celebration of the cultural diversity within the Anglican Church of Canada\u201d. <\/em><\/p>\n

A celebration of how the world has changed the church.<\/p>\n

And there\u2019s the problem.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat was true for them in the first century is true for us, the followers of Jesus, in the 21st century,\u201d he added. \u201cWhat was true in Jerusalem is true in London, Ontario\u2026 The power to be who God dreamed and intended us to be in the first place\u2014when we live that, Anglican Church of Canada, it is no secret what God can do. What he did for Moses and Esther, what he did for \u2018[not] the A-Team of apostolic disciples,\u2019 he\u2019ll do for you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Audience members interjected with shouts of \u201cAmen\u201d throughout Curry\u2019s sermon, which anchored a worship service characterized by celebration of the cultural diversity within the Anglican Church of Canada.<\/p>\n

The service began with the Algonquin \u201cWater Song\u201d, as singers beat their drums and faced the four directions of east, north, south and west, followed by the intertribal Indigenous \u201cStrong Women\u2019s Song.\u201d The St. Paul\u2019s choir led delegates in singing the hymn \u201cChrist is Made the Sure Foundation\u201d with an Indigenous smudging ceremony filling the worship space with the smell of sacred herbs.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
