{"id":28760,"date":"2021-01-01T13:11:55","date_gmt":"2021-01-01T18:11:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/anglicansamizdat.net\/wordpress\/?p=28760"},"modified":"2021-01-01T13:13:24","modified_gmt":"2021-01-01T18:13:24","slug":"baptising-my-new-pronouns","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.anglicansamizdat.net\/wordpress\/baptising-my-new-pronouns\/","title":{"rendered":"Baptising my new pronouns"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Diocese of Niagara has a new liturgy to celebrate the renaming of a person who decides to behave as if he is the opposite sex to the one imposed on him by such trivia as his chromosomes.<\/p>\n<p>The diocese hastens to point out that this is not exactly a re-baptism \u2013 that would be most unAnglican \u2013 rather, it \u201csacralizes\u201d the whole experience. Just speaking personally, I think I would need a little more incentive before agreeing to have my genitals chopped off. That\u2019s just me.<\/p>\n<p>According to Canon Penny Anderson, the mastermind behind this initiative, there are a \u201cgrowing number of people in our diocese\u201d who are not in the least bit deterred by the prospect of this barbaric practice.
