The mission of the The Hymn Society in the United States and Canada<\/a> \u201cis to encourage, promote, and enliven congregational singing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Not content to remain in an obscure, irrelevant corner of unambiguous heterosexuality, the society has produced a volume containing hymns \u201caffirming the LGBTQIA2S+ Community\u201d.<\/p>\n

If you choose to download it, you will find such timeless titles as: \u201cQueerly Beloved\u201d, \u201cQuirky Queer and Wonderful\u201d, \u201cWe Are a Rainbow\u201d, \u201cWho Is the Alien\u201d and, my favourite, \u201cGod of Queer Trangressive Spaces\u201d in which you will find the gem: \u201cGod\u2019s own deviance is Jesus, born of virgin, Word made flesh\u201d.<\/p>\n

On July 16, three days after the vote at General Synod, the Hymn Society in the United States and Canada released a new hymn collection, Songs for the Holy Other: Hymns Affirming the LGBTQIA2S+ Community.
