Their efforts have been rewarded by the publishing of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.anglican.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/GS2016-Liturgical-Psalter-2016-05-04.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Inclusive Language Liturgical Psalter<\/a> whose crowning achievement is to <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/i\/web\/status\/1133365401503588352\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">use<\/a> <em>\u201calternative wordings and\/or sentence structures to eliminate the use of predominantly masculine language.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Thus, rather than Psalm 1 beginning:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.<\/p>\n<p>But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>We have the limp \u201cthey\u201d and \u201ctheir\u201d:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Happy are they who have not walked in the counsel of the wicked, *nor lingered in the way of sinners, nor sat in the seats of the scornful!<\/p>\n<p>Their delight is in the law of the Lord, and on this law they meditate day and night.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>God himself is not exempt from neutering. Psalm 23, which should begin:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.<\/p>\n<p>He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.<\/p>\n<p>He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name&#8217;s sake.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Has been emasculated into:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The Lord is my shepherd; \u00a0I shall not be in want.<\/p>\n<p>You make me lie down in green pastures and lead me beside still waters.<\/p>\n<p>You revive my soul and guide me along right pathways for your name\u2019s sake<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This was concocted in 2016 and, as usual with an alleged church desperate to fit in with what is left of the civilization it is supposed to be redeeming, is already woefully outdated. For example, in Psalm 139, we have the deeply problematic:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>For you yourself created my inmost parts; you knit me together in my mother\u2019s womb.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>If the church were truly woke, it would say \u201cmy begetter\u2019s womb\u201d in case the womb in question belongs to a they who has chosen to self-identify as a man.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Anglican Church of Canada\u2019s liturgical butchers have been labouring diligently on expunging all traces of Davidic toxic patriarchy from the psalms.
