Last night I dreamt about this photo. In my dream, these three were Cheshire Cats. They were all mad; I must have been mad for being an Anglican like them; it didn\u2019t matter which way we went we still ended up in the same place with gay married bishops everywhere.<\/p>\n
As Anglicanism faded gently away in the West all that was left were the grins looming ghoulishly on the horizon. Until suddenly, our new primate, due to replace Fred Hiltz later in 2019, leapt into the scene, a Red Queen yelling \u201cOff with their heads\u201d at the few remaining conservatives still lurking in the Anglican Church of Canada.<\/p>\n
Then I woke up in a sweat.<\/p>\n
`Cheshire Puss,\u2019 Alice began, rather timidly, as she did not at all know whether it would like the name: however, it only grinned a little wider. `Come, it\u2019s pleased so far,\u2019 thought Alice, and she went on. `Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?\u2019
\n`That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,\u2019 said the Cat.
\n`I don\u2019t much care where\u2013\u2018 said Alice.
\n`Then it doesn\u2019t matter which way you go,\u2019 said the Cat.
\n`\u2013so long as I get SOMEWHERE,\u2019 Alice added as an explanation.
\n`Oh, you\u2019re sure to do that,\u2019 said the Cat, `if you only walk long enough.’\u201d<\/p>\n\u201c`But I don\u2019t want to go among mad people,\u2019 Alice remarked.
\n`Oh, you can\u2019t help that,\u2019 said the Cat: `we\u2019re all mad here. I\u2019m mad. You\u2019re mad.\u2019
\n`How do you know I\u2019m mad?\u2019 said Alice.
\n`You must be,\u2019 said the Cat, `or you wouldn\u2019t have come here.\u2019
\nAlice didn\u2019t think that proved it at all; however, she went on `And how do you know that you\u2019re mad?\u2019
\n`To begin with,\u2019 said the Cat, `a dog\u2019s not mad. You grant that?\u2019
\n`I suppose so,\u2019 said Alice.
\n`Well, then,\u2019 the Cat went on, `you see, a dog growls when it\u2019s angry, and wags its tail when it\u2019s pleased. Now I growl when I\u2019m pleased, and wag my tail when I\u2019m angry.
