That didn\u2019t work so Justin Welby is trying something new by using Lego <em>\u201c<\/em><em>to build 3D metaphors for the state of the church&#8230;.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>If that doesn\u2019t solve the problems in the Anglican Communion, nothing will.<\/p>\n<p>From <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-5878335\/Let-play-Church-England-vicars-turn-Lego-bricks-build-3D-metaphors.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright  wp-image-26071\" src=\"https:\/\/anglicansamizdat.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/4D9194D100000578-5878335-A_vicar_using_Lego_brick-197x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"151\" height=\"225\" \/>The Church of England wants to build a new future&#8230; using Lego.<\/p>\n<p>Vicars yesterday used the toy bricks at a bizarre problem-solving session where they were asked to build 3D metaphors for the state of the church and also to describe themselves.<\/p>\n<p>The process apparently &#8216;liberates the creative imagination&#8217; and helps explore how participants&#8217; &#8216;ideas, identities, values and expectations might combine to solve problems or discover vision&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>But Anthony Kilmister, chairman of the Anglican Association, said: &#8216;This beggars belief when the Church is facing so many serious issues.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;A little more proper conversation and action and a little less playing with Lego might achieve something more constructive.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>The session was held in the diocese of Canterbury, overseen by Archbishop Justin Welby, whose spokesman said: &#8216;He is always positive about anything that encourages creative thinking.&#8217;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rowan Williams used Indaba groups to try and cure the divisions in the Church of England.
