{"id":25521,"date":"2017-11-16T07:36:04","date_gmt":"2017-11-16T12:36:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/anglicansamizdat.net\/wordpress\/?p=25521"},"modified":"2017-11-16T08:56:21","modified_gmt":"2017-11-16T13:56:21","slug":"more-on-the-firing-of-jacob-worley","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.anglicansamizdat.net\/wordpress\/more-on-the-firing-of-jacob-worley\/","title":{"rendered":"More on the firing of Jacob Worley"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright \" src=\"http:\/\/www.anglicanjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/JakeWorley.jpg\" width=\"176\" height=\"118\" \/>In a extraordinarily hypocritical <a href=\"http:\/\/www.anglicanjournal.com\/articles\/diocese-caledonia-priest-fired-without-cause\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">statement<\/a> \u2013 even for an ACoC archbishop \u2013 John Privett still refuses to reveal why Rev Jacob Worley was fired, hinting that to do so would be to reveal something \u201cpersonal\u201d &#8211; a hint that is dripping with the innuendo of a dark and shameful secret &#8211; about Worley. I suspect it would actually reveal something personal about the bishops who made the decision, namely that there are none whose intolerance is as venomous as that of those who claim to be standard bearers of tolerance.<\/p>\n<p>He goes on to note that the decision was not \u201cprecipitous\u201d, nor was it made by Privett alone. To cap this sanctimonious tripe, he declares that those making the decision were acting as \u201ccompassionately as possible\u201d. There is no compassion as heartwarming as Anglican compassion, a compassion that deprives a person and his family of his livelihood, home and country of residence and refuses to state why.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>In a telephone interview with the\u00a0<em>Anglican Journal,\u00a0<\/em>Privett stated that he made the decision, as he has episcopal authority during a vacancy, but that he \u201cdid not act alone,\u201d rather in consultation with the diocesan leadership. Privett declined to speak further about the reasons behind the termination, saying, \u201cI don\u2019t think it\u2019s appropriate to speak about personal matters. Those are confidential.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat I can say, though, is that it was not precipitous.
