{"id":2431,"date":"2009-02-02T18:00:47","date_gmt":"2009-02-02T23:00:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/anglicansamizdat.wordpress.com\/?p=2431"},"modified":"2009-02-02T18:00:47","modified_gmt":"2009-02-02T23:00:47","slug":"north-wales-home-of-gay-police","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.anglicansamizdat.net\/wordpress\/north-wales-home-of-gay-police\/","title":{"rendered":"North Wales, home of Gay Police"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Raising the rainbow flag in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/news\/uknews\/4428021\/Gay-pride-flag-flies-at-police-HQ.html\" target=\"_blank\">Wales<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>A gay pride flag has been flying above a police headquarters.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The flag to be hoisted to mark &#8220;Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual History Month&#8221; at North Wales Police, where Richard Brunstrom, the controversial chief constable is in charge.<\/p>\n<p>However anger is growing about flying the flag, and whether special interest groups should be perceived to be favoured by the police.<\/p>\n<p>David Jones, Tory MP for Clwyd West, called it &#8220;political tokenism&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>He added : &#8220;I can&#8217;t see any reason why any flag other than the Union Flag and the Red Dragon of Wales should fly outside our police headquarters.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This is tokenism and posturing.
