Dr. Donald Boisvert appointed principal of Montreal Diocesan Theological College"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Donald Boisvert assumes his new post on <a href=\"http:\/\/dio-mdtc.ca\/college-names-new-principal\/\" target=\"_blank\">September 1<sup>st<\/sup> 2015<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The mission of the MDTC <a href=\"http:\/\/dio-mdtc.ca\/about-us\/\" target=\"_blank\">states that<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>We are committed to a ministry of theological education which, in the context of a worshipping community, is grounded in the revelation of scripture, shaped by our Anglican tradition, and open to\u00a0ecumenical\u00a0collaboration.<\/p>\n<p>This ministry equips the whole people of God \u201cfor the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ,\u00a0until all of us come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to maturity, to the measure of the full stature of Christ.\u201d [Ephesians 4: 12-13] Consonant with this vision, our mission is to edify the ministry of the Church through programs of ordered learning that encourage the development of those intellectual competencies, practical skills, and spiritual gifts that make for mature Christian witness and service.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This seems to be a fairly straightforward statement that any orthodox Christian seminary might make. It just goes to show that one cannot take the claims of Anglican seminaries particularly seriously.<\/p>\n<p>Boisvert, is gay, lives with his spouse, Gaston, and has written a book, \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/books.google.ca\/books\/about\/Out_on_Holy_Ground.html?id=ql_XAAAAMAAJ\" target=\"_blank\">Out on Holy Ground: Meditations on Gay Men\u2019s Spirituality<\/a>\u201d in which he <a href=\"https:\/\/anglicansamizdat.net\/wordpress\/diocese-of-montreal\/diocese-of-montreal-respectful-and-dignified-objections-to-the-ordination-of-partnered-homosexuals\/\" target=\"_blank\">extols the holiness<\/a> of phallic worship and gay sex.<\/p>\n<p>He is unclear on whether the time that he \u201c<em>publicly cruised other men, or participated in some of the more arcane rituals associated with S\/M sex<\/em>\u201d was before or after he attached himself to Gaston but, either way, the seminary must believe its students will benefit from being led by someone who appreciates the finer points of holy gay cruising, S\/M sex and phallic worship.
