{"id":21185,"date":"2014-03-25T11:58:45","date_gmt":"2014-03-25T16:58:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/anglicansamizdat.net\/wordpress\/?p=21185"},"modified":"2014-03-25T12:24:54","modified_gmt":"2014-03-25T17:24:54","slug":"merry-christmas-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.anglicansamizdat.net\/wordpress\/merry-christmas-3\/","title":{"rendered":"Merry Christmas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It\u2019s nine months until we celebrate the birth of Jesus and today is the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Anglican_Marian_theology\" target=\"_blank\">Feast of the Annunciation<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I believe that the moment of conception is the moment a human being, made in God\u2019s image, a person with an immortal soul, is created by God. For a Christian no other view stands up to scrutiny; no other view is logical.<\/p>\n<p>Today, then, we celebrate the moment when God himself became fully Man while remaining fully God. Jesus<i> emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. <\/i>He emptied himself to the extent that he became a microscopic clump of cells embedded in the womb of one of his creatures.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/anglicansamizdat.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Embryo.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-21186\" alt=\"Embryo\" src=\"https:\/\/anglicansamizdat.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Embryo.jpg\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.anglicansamizdat.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Embryo.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.anglicansamizdat.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Embryo-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.anglicansamizdat.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Embryo-400x300.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a>Jesus came into the world at the moment of his conception.<\/p>\n<p>Merry Christmas.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It\u2019s nine months until we celebrate the birth of Jesus and today is the Feast of the Annunciation.
