{"id":20584,"date":"2013-11-01T23:43:32","date_gmt":"2013-11-02T03:43:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/anglicansamizdat.net\/wordpress\/?p=20584"},"modified":"2013-11-02T09:48:24","modified_gmt":"2013-11-02T13:48:24","slug":"the-new-website-for-continuing-indaba","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.anglicansamizdat.net\/wordpress\/the-new-website-for-continuing-indaba\/","title":{"rendered":"The new website for Continuing Indaba"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/continuingindaba.com\/about-2\/\" target=\"_blank\">According<\/a> to the <a href=\"http:\/\/continuingindaba.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">website<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>Continuing Indaba<\/em> uses journeys to establish relationships and build community so that genuine conversation on matters of significance can energise mission.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I would like to congratulate the writer on cramming an unprecedented concentration of clich\u00e9s into one sentence: <i>journeys<\/i>, <i>relationships<\/i>, <i>community<\/i>, <i>conversation<\/i>, <i>significance<\/i>, <i>energise<\/i> and <i>mission <\/i>are all there &#8211; although it&#8217;s a shame he missed <em>trajectory <\/em>and <em>go deeper<\/em><i>.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>In the spirit of robust obfuscation, the sentence could be describing anything from a seniors&#8217; knitting club on a long cruise to a morale boosting \u2013 it\u2019s actually called \u201cteam building\u201c now &#8211; IBM sales meeting at an expensive golf resort.<\/p>\n<p>What it actually is, is a liberal diversion aimed at lulling unwary conservatives into a conversational stupor while, behind the scenes, the real work is done: Continuing Machinations to bring to pass everything the conservatives disagree with.<\/p>\n<p>For those convinced that with a new Archbishop of Canterbury things would change, the first photograph that appears on the site might be something of a disappointment:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-20585\" alt=\"abc\" src=\"https:\/\/anglicansamizdat.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/abc.jpg\" width=\"602\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.anglicansamizdat.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/abc.jpg 602w, https:\/\/www.anglicansamizdat.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/abc-300x99.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.anglicansamizdat.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/abc-500x166.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 602px) 100vw, 602px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The second holds more promise: a Canada goose.
