{"id":19570,"date":"2013-06-09T19:41:12","date_gmt":"2013-06-09T23:41:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/anglicansamizdat.net\/wordpress\/?p=19570"},"modified":"2013-06-09T19:41:12","modified_gmt":"2013-06-09T23:41:12","slug":"bishop-sue-moxley-to-retire","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.anglicansamizdat.net\/wordpress\/bishop-sue-moxley-to-retire\/","title":{"rendered":"Bishop Sue Moxley to retire"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-19571\" alt=\"moxley\" src=\"https:\/\/anglicansamizdat.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/moxley.jpg\" width=\"205\" height=\"151\" \/>In what appears to be an epidemic of resigning bishops, first Michael Ingham announced his retirement, then James Cowan and now Sue Moxley, bishop of the diocese of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.<\/p>\n<p>These three bishops have all presided over the instigation of same-sex blessings in their respective dioceses and now,\u00a0having accomplished their mission and set the cat among the pigeons, are bidding us adieu and leaving their successors to cope with the fallout.<\/p>\n<p>From <a href=\"http:\/\/www.womencitizen.com\/world-21\/bishop-moxley-to-retire-182.html\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Bishop Susan \u201cSue\u201d Moxley, known to many Anglicans in Canada and overseas for her passion for social justice and church renewal, has announced she will retire in March 2014.<\/p>\n<p>By then, Moxley will have served in an episcopal role for 10 years\u2014three years as suffragan (assistant) bishop and seven as diocesan bishop for the diocese of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. She also will have served as an active priest in the Anglican Church of Canada for 29 years.
