Upon hearing this, NDP leader Thomas Mulcair <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cbc.ca\/news\/politics\/story\/2013\/02\/11\/pol-cida-fantino-defends-gay-uganda.html\" target=\"_blank\">was overcome<\/a> by a paroxysm of indignation:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;It&#8217;s shocking to hear Minister Fantino defending the indefensible, standing up today and defending a group that on its website is attacking something that&#8217;s recognized and protected by Canadian law,&#8221; Mulcair said after question period.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It goes against Canadian values. It goes against Canadian law. And he can&#8217;t defend that.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>What exactly has Crossroads done that Mulcair thinks \u201cgoes against Canadian law\u201d? Crossroads has said that, according to the Bible, \u201cpedophilia, homosexuality and lesbianism, sadism, masochism, transvestism, and beastiality <i>[sic]<\/i>\u201d are sinful \u2013 perversions of what God intended when he invented sex.<\/p>\n<p>Before he became a politician, Thomas Mulcair was a lawyer; obviously not a very good one since he is blissfully unaware of the fact that calling something sinful is not illegal \u2013 even in Canada.
