There are far too many unreflective fundamentalisms around in our communion today &#8211; conservative fundamentalism, liberal fundamentalism, catholic fundamentalism &#8211; all characterized by a certainly in their rightness, coupled with an intolerance of the faith perspective of others with whom they differ.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>That would make John the Baptist, St. Paul, St. Peter and the rest of the apostles all fundamentalists.<\/p>\n<p>Even worse, since he claimed that his \u201capprehension of God\u201d was not only \u201cthe right one\u201d but that those who apprehended him apprehended God, it would make Jesus the definitive fundamentalist: a veritable paradigm of fundamentalism.<\/p>\n<p>Jesus would have made a dreadfully intolerant Anglican \u2013 according to the Secretary General of the Anglican Communion.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Apparently, it\u2019s fundamentalism.
