{"id":17299,"date":"2012-09-06T18:06:06","date_gmt":"2012-09-06T22:06:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/anglicansamizdat.net\/wordpress\/?p=17299"},"modified":"2012-09-06T18:06:06","modified_gmt":"2012-09-06T22:06:06","slug":"whos-on-top-at-st-matthew-in-the-city","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.anglicansamizdat.net\/wordpress\/whos-on-top-at-st-matthew-in-the-city\/","title":{"rendered":"Who\u2019s on top at St. Matthew-in-the-city"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/stmatthews.org.nz\/\" target=\"_blank\">Auckland Anglican church<\/a> is a <em>progressive <\/em>church and, as such, supports same-sex marriage.<\/p>\n<p>St. Matthew\u2019s has a reputation for erecting <a href=\"https:\/\/anglicansamizdat.net\/wordpress\/barmy-clergymen\/and-now-for-a-completely-different-annunciation\/\" target=\"_blank\">strange<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/anglicansamizdat.net\/wordpress\/anglican-angst\/the-mary-and-joseph-billboard\/\" target=\"_blank\">billboards<\/a>, so it is no surprise that it is at it again with this declaration of support for same-sex marriage plastered on billboards-in-the-city &#8211; what the church should really call itself.<\/p>\n<p>As St. Matthew\u2019s says: <em>Welcome to a church like no other<\/em>: a church of vertical inclusiveness:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-17300\" title=\"We-don't-care-who's-on-top-banner\" src=\"https:\/\/anglicansamizdat.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/We-dont-care-whos-on-top-banner.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"387\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Auckland Anglican church is a progressive church and, as such, supports same-sex marriage.
