{"id":13666,"date":"2011-07-22T13:04:38","date_gmt":"2011-07-22T17:04:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/anglicansamizdat.net\/wordpress\/?p=13666"},"modified":"2011-07-22T13:04:38","modified_gmt":"2011-07-22T17:04:38","slug":"anglican-inclusion-results-in-exclusion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.anglicansamizdat.net\/wordpress\/anglican-inclusion-results-in-exclusion\/","title":{"rendered":"Anglican inclusion results in exclusion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An acquaintance of my wife was talking to her about her church, a prominent Anglican parish in Oakville, and about how unhappy she was that it was watering down the Gospel: it is promoting <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Chrislam\">Chrislam<\/a>, among other things.<\/p>\n<p>She isn\u2019t the type of person to make a fuss, complain or confront the church\u2019s leaders; at some point she will just quietly leave.<\/p>\n<p>And that\u2019s how Anglican <em>inclusion<\/em> works. Anyone who actually believes that Christianity is true \u2013 is a Christian, in other words \u2013 is made to feel so uncomfortable at the onslaught of syncretic babble that flows so effortlessly from the pulpit, that their distress compels them to depart.<\/p>\n<p>What is left is an exclusive club of likeminded zealots with little left to celebrate other than the self-congratulatory myopia so characteristic of those who pride themselves on their tolerance.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An acquaintance of my wife was talking to her about her church, a prominent Anglican parish in Oakville, and about how unhappy she was that it was watering down the Gospel: it is promoting Chrislam, among other things.
