{"id":12693,"date":"2011-04-17T22:30:52","date_gmt":"2011-04-18T02:30:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/anglicansamizdat.net\/wordpress\/?p=12693"},"modified":"2011-04-17T22:30:52","modified_gmt":"2011-04-18T02:30:52","slug":"welcome-to-holy-trinity-st-marys","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.anglicansamizdat.net\/wordpress\/welcome-to-holy-trinity-st-marys\/","title":{"rendered":"Welcome to Holy Trinity &amp; St. Mary&#039;s"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This is an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.holytrinityguildford.org.uk\/\">Anglican church<\/a> which is inclusive (it advertises <a href=\"http:\/\/changingattitude.org.uk\/\">Changing Attitude<\/a>), has a rector who <a href=\"http:\/\/www.holytrinityguildford.org.uk\/Blog\">asks<\/a>, <em>\u201cwhy do some Christians exalt the Bible so much?\u201d <\/em>and announces its anti-Semitism with this extraordinarily crass cartoon at the top of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.holytrinityguildford.org.uk\/About_us\/\">About<\/a> page:<\/p>\n<p><em>Update: the carton has now been removed.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/anglicansamizdat.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/not-fair.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-12696\" title=\"not fair\" src=\"https:\/\/anglicansamizdat.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/not-fair.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"599\" height=\"343\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Oddly enough, there are no riots in Jerusalem, no-one has been beheaded and Anglicans wander unmolested in Israel. But the Anglican bishop of Jerusalem, Suheil Dawani just <em>can&#8217;t<\/em> understand why he is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.guardian.co.uk\/world\/2011\/mar\/04\/anglican-bishop-jerusalem-sues-israel\" target=\"_blank\">less than welcome in Israel<\/a>.
