Better sewers – and a few other things. Notably absent is a desire for the people of the city which is home to the diocesan cathedral to come to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour; that must be less important than waste disposal.

Perhaps they are an Athein- whateverglican diocese. 😉
Great to hear that the diocese wants a rise in property tax. But … isn’t the diocese exempted from paying property taxes?
If so, they can have their wish! All they need to do is refuse the exemption, and start paying.
Sadly I suspect that this is just another bit of hypocrisy, designed to raid the pockets of others.
The AcoC is going down the road of the United Church of Canada. They stopped being ‘a church’ in the early ’70’s and apparently they are involved in the real estate business now as well. Take the Catholic expression out of Anglicanism and what’s the point. It may as well be a Protestant denomination. Mind you, I think it more important to be a Christian than a denomination. If you get my drift.
With an apostate primate and bishop one could hardly expect anything less. The ACoC has long since abandoned its allegiance to our Lord and readily worships whatever it might think could be beneficial to them from a financial standpoint. The time has long since past for the clergy and laity to realize it takes more than a purple shirt and white collar to make a bishop.
The spiritual infrastructure being sacrificed on the altar of mammon has to be the more concerning sign of the times:
more condos replacing James Street Baptist, All Saints…with more to follow;
fulfilling the prophecy of The Reverend Dr. C.L. Cowan (St. Andrew’s Presbyterian, Hamilton,1925 +1966 ) that both the desecration of Sunday combined with the sexual revolution “the booking-office for perdition”,would prove to be Hamilton’s worst enemies, “the ruined…GOD’s children, for whom He sent His Son to a Cross!”
Where does the Diocese stand on these??
