Hamilton Spectator: Niagara Bishop to get public apology from blogger

The Diocese of Niagara issued a press release Monday saying the pair has reached a settlement.

The church said blogger David Jenkins offered an apology to Bird for “any suffering he has experienced as a result of blog postings” on Jenkins’ Anglican Samizdat blog.

  1. “I believe that the successful conclusion to this action sends a strong message to all who unjustly seek power over others through bullying behaviours.”
    Who is the bully? This Bishop launched lawsuits against congregations in his diocese, seized their buildings, went after individuals and then didn’t like it when he was criticized by Mr Jenkins for doing what he did. Please don’t call others “bully” when you lead the pack.

  3. Bishop Bird is still a [edited], for pursuing this suit.
    I’m a citizen of the USA, not a ‘subject of the Queen’ in Canada
    so I’m probably immune from further suits.
