The dog days of Ramadan

From here:

Malaysian politicians and religious leaders have attacked the use of Scottie dogs during the Commonwealth Games opening ceremony, claiming it was disrespectful to Muslims.

[….]

Mohamad Sabu, the deputy president of the opposition Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party said: “Malaysia and all Islamic countries deserve and [sic] apology from the organiser.

“This is just so disrespectful to Malaysia and Muslims – especially as it happened during Ramadan. Muslims are not allowed to touch dogs, so the organiser should have been more aware and sensitive on this issue.

“It is hoped this incident can teach other Western countries to be more respectful in the future.”

Meanwhile, Muslims in Iraq, Syria, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Iran and just about any other Islamic state that comes to mind are beheading, raping, torturing, persecuting and generally oppressing anyone who questions Islam. After exhausting the opposition, they turn on each other; all without disrespectfully touching any dogs.

  1. Funnily, I don’t hear any complaints from Scottish terrier dogs about Muslims marching in the Commonwealth Games Opening Parade

  2. Rosh Hashanah 5775 (2014) was to be Hamas’ offensive offence – via its Qatari-financed 30+ tunnels Israel discovered infiltrating Israel.

    • Further to which:Kehila.com offers Biblical-based perception of the spiritual root of this conflict whose imminent resolution will be found only in Yeshua Ha Moshiach.
E.g: to “When Christians Become Apologists For Terrorism” ( as per.the Bethlehem ‘Bible’ College’s July 29/14 “We are ALL Palestinians” manifesto),v. July 29/14 Israel Today, ‘Streams in the Negev”s “War in the Heavenlies and on Earth” (July 28/14) offers the truly Christian antidote, yes, antidote, to same; etc.

      • Hi Abigail.
I see that you frequently post on this blog and I try to read your messages but I have a lot of difficulty understanding your point. It is probably my lack of knowledge that is hindering the communication. Can you (or someone else) clarify for me? Thanks.

        • According to The WORD of GOD, this conflict has a spiritual root: the Bethlehem Bible College does not convey this truth (v. article referenced at ‘Israel Today’); ‘Streams in the Desert’ (at Kehila.com) does. Hope this helps. shalom

          • Thanks for the clarification. I looked up the articles that you quoted. They are highly biased towards Israel and seem to try to paint Palestinian Christians (and the Arab-run Bethlehem Bible College) as ignorant. I would think that this would suggest that there is also a political/ethnic/cultural element here as well. (I would agree that there is a spiritual element and the Bethlehem Bible College doesn’t appear to deny this either).

In any case, we as Christians are called to be on the side of peacemakers, not to necessarily choose one country over another. I think that I have posted this on another thread but well worth linking again….

            • If any professedly ‘Christian’ body does not base its perception of any situation on a spiritual-as-in-Biblical foundation, it is “ignorant”, grossly so + Isaiah 60:2a.
The Israel-Palestinian conflict is the cause par excellence of our time. Holy Scripture clearly and consistently identifies three and only three peoples:
the Jews; the Church; the Gentiles + I Corinthians 10;32. To confuse one for the other, as does replacement theology,/geography,and most notably on the issue of the Prophesied Restoration of Israel to the Land which has begun to take place within our time ( *May 14, 1948), results in the very benighted teachings and practices current in so many denominations and religious bodies such as the Bethlehem Bible College. Seeking peace is wholly aligned with seeking justice; a justice so grievously reneged on by Mandatory Great Britain, by its final White Paper ( May 17, 1939!) the supreme price for which everyone still is paying; ref. Balfour-San Remo, April, 1920, by which the Biblical, historical and legal rights of indigenous Jewry was to have been both honoured and upheld.
              V. Pierre Van Paassen’s ‘The Forgotten Ally’, 1943, for some remedial reading to which Biblical Prophecy already had given ample voice.

  3. Muslims are out to destroy ALL who are not ready to bow down to their Allah while the true genuine Christians pray for their conversion and repentance. What we are witnessing with Hamas versus Israel is a select group of Muslins who care nothing about their fellow citizens which is proven by their continual rocket launches against Israel and they violate any truce that is created while expecting the rest of the world to condemn Israel. This clearly demonstrates what happens when a people or nation worship a false god and not the true GOD.

      • There are many people who think that they are Christians, say that they are Christians, but make no effort to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ, and some who make no effort at all to know Jesus. Perhaps these muslim friends of yours are similar.

          • Are we really saying that to be a real Muslim you have to be “out to destroy ALL who are not ready to bow down to [your] Allah”?
That’s a pretty airtight definition right there. If you don’t wish for all encompassing destruction of non Muslims, you’re not actually a Muslim?
            Bit unfair, surely? Bit onerous.
