Rob Ford commits the unforgivable sin: he doesn’t stand for WorldPride ovation

From here:

Several councillors aren’t impressed with Toronto Mayor Rob Ford’s decision to remain seated during a standing ovation for WorldPride organizers at city hall earlier today.

[…..]

Coun. Mike Layton tweeted that Ford’s behaviour was “disgraceful.”

Watching that video reminded me of something:

  1. The various news reports in the past concerning Mayor Rob Ford caused me to believe he is not worthy of the position of mayor. However, in this case it is clear he has some moral principals and council members who supported the despicable display should hang their heads in shame. Pride is one of the primary sins and it is clear those who wish to display their perversion are seriously infected with that sin.

  2. Here is another vote which is unlikely to improve his trendiness quotient:

Toronto Mayor Rob Ford was the only member of city council to vote against a report looking into a potential homeless shelter for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer youth in Toronto.

The shelter report recommendation passed on Thursday by a vote of 37-1. Several councillors, including the mayor’s brother Doug, were absent for or abstained from the vote.

The vote means that council has requested a report on the feasibility of allocating 25 per cent of shelter beds to LGBT youth in an existing shelter for the coming winter.
